- Data email. The policy uses
privacy@oneclickinsure.co.uk. Create that mailbox, or tell me a different address and I will swap it. - ICO registration. Section 12 currently says you are registered without giving a number. If you are registered, add the number. If you are not, you almost certainly need to be — processing personal data for a commercial purpose in the UK generally requires registration and payment of the data protection fee.
- Criminal convictions and FCA status. The form asks about motoring convictions, which is criminal offence data under the Data Protection Act 2018 and needs a Schedule 1 condition and an appropriate policy document. Separately, confirm the introducer exclusion covers what you do. Both are for a compliance consultant, not for guesswork. Also verify Adrian Flux’s FCA reference number on the FCA register before publishing it.

OneClickInsure respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use our website (oneclickinsure.co.uk), what we do with it, and what rights you have.
Please read it carefully. It explains how and why we pass your details to insurance brokers, which is the main purpose of our service.

Motoring convictions
Our quotation forms ask whether you have motoring convictions in the last five years. This is information relating to criminal offences, which receives additional protection under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect it only because insurers require it in order to provide an accurate quotation. We pass it only to the broker named in section 5, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
Children
Our website and services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data relating to anyone under 17.
3. How your personal data is collected
- Directly from you — when you complete a quotation form on our website, or contact us by email.
- Automatically — as you use our website, through cookies, server logs and similar technologies. See section 10.
- From analytics providers — who tell us how our website is being used.
4. How we use your personal data
We only use your personal data when the law allows us to. The table below sets out what we do with it and the lawful basis we rely on.
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| To pass your details to an insurance broker so they can contact you with a quotation | Identity, contact, vehicle, policy, claims and convictions | Your consent, given when you submit the quotation form |
| To respond to enquiries you send us | Identity, contact | Legitimate interests — answering people who contact us |

| To operate, secure and improve our website | Technical, usage | Legitimate interests — running our business, site security, preventing fraud |
| To keep records required by law and to handle complaints or disputes | All categories | Legal obligation, and legitimate interests in establishing or defending legal claims |
Marketing
We will only send you marketing or renewal reminders if you have asked us to. You can stop them at any time by emailing privacy@oneclickinsure.co.uk or using the unsubscribe link in any message we send.
We will not share your personal data with any third party for that third party’s own marketing purposes without your express opt-in consent.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.
Please note that once your details have been passed to a broker, that broker becomes responsible for the data they hold, and you would need to contact them directly as well.
5. Who we share your personal data with
This is the core of our service. When you complete a quotation form we pass the details you have given us to an FCA authorised insurance broker so that they can contact you and provide a quotation. They will contact you by telephone and/or email.
Depending on the product, you will be introduced to one of the following authorised firms:
- Adrian Flux Insurance Services — FCA reference number 307071
We also use service providers who process data on our instructions only. These fall into the following categories:
- Website hosting and website security providers
- Backup providers
- Website analytics providers
- Email delivery providers
We may also disclose your data where we are legally required to do so, including to the Financial Conduct Authority, HM Revenue & Customs, law enforcement, or in connection with the prevention of fraud.
We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not permit our service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers, such as our analytics providers, may store or process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we ensure a similar degree of protection is applied by relying on an approved safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data security
We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We limit access to those who have a business need to know.
We have procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where we are legally required to do so.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it for, including to meet any legal, regulatory, tax or accounting requirements.
Quotation enquiries are retained for 24 months, after which they are deleted. That period covers a renewal cycle and the window in which a complaint or query might arise.
We may keep data for longer where there is an unresolved complaint, or where we reasonably believe there is a prospect of a legal claim.
9. Your legal rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Be informed about how we use your data — that is what this policy is for
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no good reason for us to keep it
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it
- Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling
To exercise any of these, email privacy@oneclickinsure.co.uk.
You will not have to pay a fee. We may charge a reasonable fee, or refuse, if a request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. We may ask for information to confirm your identity before we act, to make sure personal data is not disclosed to anyone who has no right to receive it.
We aim to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. If a request is complex, or you have made several, it may take longer and we will let you know.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to make it work, to keep it secure, and to understand how it is used. You can review and change your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie settings link on our website.
You can also set your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when a site sets one. If you disable cookies, some parts of this website may not work properly.
11. Third-party links
Our website may include links to third-party websites. Clicking those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their privacy policies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first at privacy@oneclickinsure.co.uk so we have the chance to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
